My First Relief Sale

For those of you that don't know, my Dad was raised in the Mennonite church. Every year, the Mennonite Central Committee has a Relief Sale to benefit missions for the churches. It is a big event and somewhat of a Brenneman family reunion of sorts. Here are some of my favorite parts from the weekend:
Meeting family-
I met Monte and Kim and their kids. I loved finding out that they read my blog.
Josiah, was there. I liked his hat!
Last, but certainly not least, I got to meet my new cousin Brannen! He's the little one on Cadence's lap...
Seeing family-
I can't get enough Grandma time!
I got to catch up with my great aunts and uncles, cousins, aunt, uncle, and many other relatives! I love seeing my family!
Playing with bubbles-
This one gets me every time!
Food-
Whole hog sandwiches, pit-tatoes, pancakes, applesauce, and my favorite...apple fritters!
Believe it or not, I personally downed 5 fritters all by myself. Mom thinks that probably equates to a whole apple. WHOA!
Toys-
Grandma bought me a handmade toy that I can shake, too. What a great weekend! I really liked the Relief Sale and look forward to going next year.

A day at the park...

This past week was a fun one, full of new stuff to do. Mommy and I went up to Peru again, to visit my family. I got to see Grandma & Grandpa, Great Aunt Owi, and Great Grandma Luttrell. We actually stopped by Great Grandma's house because she had the afternoon off of work. It took me no time to make myself at home, getting into cabinets, climbing on everything, and leaving slobber tracks on her kitchen floor. What can I say? I'm getting lots of teeth. Speaking of, Mommy went to the dentist while we were there and she took a quick look at my pearly whites. She said they look great, and that I'm getting lots of them in at the same time. Currently, I have 3 teeth (one on top and two on the bottom) but you can see four more just about ready to poke through. Later in the week, I went to a park that I had never been to before. I had a great time swinging, sliding, climbing, and playing in the giant tube. This coming weekend is my very first Relief Sale in Goshen. I have been told that the event is kind of like a mini-Brenneman reunion. I'll tell you all about that next time and report back on the festivities. I can hardly wait!

So much to say...

My high chair is my throne. It is the place where I do some of my best thinking. I've been known to give an oratory or two from the seat, and lately, the high chair has been my discovery spot for new words. This week I learned the following:
BOO
Mom taught me this one during my lunch. She had Halloween on her mind and wanted to get me ready for the event.
UP
It was after devouring a delicious watermelon breakfast that Mom asked me if I was done and wanted to get up. Then she asked me if I could say "up" and I let her know I could...over and over again.BAT
No, this has nothing to do with Halloween. Dad had been working on this one with me for quite some time. Mom realized that she has my undivided attention while I'm seated in the throne, so she took the opportunity to work on the word "bat" with me. To my Daddy's pleasure, I almost have this one down now. It sounds like "bap" but we all know what I mean. Here are some videos of my new words, and some of my old favorites like "ball" and "hi". Enjoy!

Labor Day

Sorry to post so late this week...

I celebrated Labor Day with a full weekend of not so labor intensive activities. First, there is something you should know about my Daddy: he LOVES college football. Thursday was the kickoff to his favorite three months of sport, but Saturday was the day he was looking forward to most. We watched football from morning until night (he watched after I went to bed). I really enjoyed relaxing with him and taking in the games. It prompted me to say "ball" which has quickly become one of my favorite words.

After church Sunday we headed to Logansport to visit my grandparents. Grandpa and I played with a tennis ball during the US Open. Grandma was making me laugh a lot during dinner! I was such a happy boy because I also go to see my Owi and my great grandma, too! I finally got to play in the pool and I loved the opportunity to splash! Here are a few more photos:
Tickle time!

Cuddle time with Grandma..."Grandpa, why are you watching those silly cars racing around in a circle? Don't you know there are real sports on television...like football and tennis?"

"Grandma, I love splashing, I mean swimming with you!"

See you next week!
