Say it? I'd rather spray it!

Happy Memorial Day everyone!
I've really enjoyed the three day weekend. I spent it relaxing with mommy, daddy, and several friends.
This past week I went for my longest trek ever in the stroller. Mommy and Lauren decided we should run the Monon Trail into Carmel. 3.5 miles of jogging later, we were there. We hung out and had a snack at this park.
I think this may be a new hobby of mommy's! 3.5 miles after that, we were back in the van and I was out (but still trying to remain hydrated)!
The camera was an afterthought this weekend, believe it or not. Friday, my friend Meghan came over and hung out with me so that daddy could take mommy out on a date. They told me they had a great time, but I think I got the better end of the deal because I got to spend time with Meg. Sunday we had a barbecue, and needless to say my time with the Spillmans, McLarrens, Brothers, and my parents was a blast. I hung out with Emerson and watched our daddies play cornhole for a bit, and I also snuck in a bite of homemade ice cream while mommy and daddy weren't looking. Yum!
I'm learning and changing everyday. I tried green beans this week. That was a disaster. This is the first food that I refuse to eat. I don't like it. It makes me gag and I like to just push it out of my mouth with my tongue. I get a grumpy look on my face. I think I'm still a good eater. Mommy says that I'll like these better when they can be doctored up with bacon or maybe served up in a casserole.

Other happenings of late: I like fans. I don't know if they remind me of my mobile above my crib or what, but they certainly have me captivated. Another fun thing that I'm doing is spitting. I do it constantly. We were in the store today and I did it for the duration of our waiting in line, checking out, and driving home. (Mommy note: Ryker hasn't figured out how to do this yet with food in his mouth, thank goodness!)
Here's a clip of my new favorite past-time.

I hope you all had a wonderful week. The week ahead should be a great one. We're hoping Grandma Brenneman is feeling better soon and is able to come down and see us this weekend!

Little Drummer Boy

This week's blog was supposed to be dedicated to my fun weekend with my grandma who had planned to come visit. She got sick the day she was supposed to leave, though. I hope that she feels better really soon and comes to visit me in a couple of weeks! I miss her. In the meantime, I'll just show you a bit of what I've been up to this week.
Mom and I have found a new favorite past-time. Emerson and his mom introduced us to hard core garage sale-ing. Now, we've done the garage sale thing before, but when the Spillmans do it, they do it up right. It involves getting the newspaper on Wednesday and plotting the hottest spots to hit, scowering Craig's List for more sales, and then waking up at the crack of dawn Friday to arrive at the neighborhood and do drive bys of the sales before they "open" and then piling into the jogging stroller to get the best bargains around!
This Friday we made quite a purchase! It seems I've turned into quite the percussionist. I like to slap my hands on my knees, clap my hands on daddy's, and make mommy's hands clap. Once I got a hold of Emerson's drum set, mom could tell I'd really like one of my own. We happened to find my very own Bee Bop Drum set at a garage sale on Friday morning. I had a lot of fun with it.

It was so nice to spend time relaxing as a family this weekend!

A week of celebrating...

My daddy had a big actuarial exam on Thursday. He had been studying and preparing for this since January. He came home Thursday afternoon and I had my new t-shirt on just for him. Mommy and I had been praying he would pass it, and he did! Yea Daddy! On Saturday we traveled to Anderson for Hannah and Brandon's wedding. On the way, we stopped at Anderson University to see where daddy went to school. We took a picture outside of Helios on the campus. Maybe I'll be a Raven someday.
Hannah and Brandon's wedding was great! I got to see a lot of mommy and daddy's friends there. This is me with Dave. He made me laugh!
Sunday was mommy's first Mother's Day. We went to church early so that we could travel up to see grandma (and grandpa, and my great grandma, and great aunts Owi and Ami, and first cousin once removed Emili and her husband Andrew and their daughter Rilei). Mommy told me she is so blessed to be my mommy! Daddy made her cry with a sweet card, and laugh by writing funny things in it. I picked one out too. It had a turtle on it (my favorite)!
We had such a fun week! I love spending time with daddy. I am so glad he's done studying for a while; now he'll be home earlier from work and that means more time to do fun things together. Here are a few pictures from our time last week:

Giddy up!

This week I found a new talent...horse whispering. I stumbled upon this bucking bronco in my room. After closer investigation, I decided to try and tame him. I can't tell you all my secrets, but I will say that after a few minutes of flashing my dimples this wild creature was reduced to a sweet, docile pony that I can take for a ride any time. All this roping and riding makes a boy tired.

This week we also went to the doctor where I learned that I am 18 lbs 14.5 ozs and I am 27.5 inches long. I have expanded my menu options to include not only bananas, avocados, oatmeal, rice cereal, and sweet potatoes, but also pears, apples, squash, and prunes. I've yet to find something I won't eat (hence the near 19 lb weigh in). Mom and dad are so grateful that God has blessed them with a healthy boy. Here are some pictures of their growing young man:
