Two words: State Fair!

Among other fun this week, I took in the Indiana State Fair for the first, and second, time. But, let's not get ahead of ourselves. Here are some shots of my new favorite places in the house. I know how to open drawers now, so the pot holders and oven mits are no match for me.

Even better than that, I can climb into the fridge. It's nice and cold on these hot summer days and full of all kinds of stuff.

Busted!

My weekend started with a birthday bash. My good buddy Emerson turned 1 year old! He had a great party. I even got to try some of his cake. Check out those balloons!

My favorite part was watching his Uncle Todd (aka Bubbleman) blow bubbles.

Sunday was our first trip to the fair. For Mom, the fair is all about the food. Dinner was in the pork tent where we had pork burgers and I ate Mom's applesauce. Next, we checked out the cows. Those things are big!

We tried an elephant ear and a milkshake which were average at best. Then, we met up with our friend, Steph, and I watched my very first concert: Brandon Heath. (You can hear him on my Rykertunes!) We had some pretty good seats, huh?

Anyway, he put on quite a show and I spent the evening bouncing, dancing, and singing to his music. Like my trip to the symphony earlier this summer, this was so much fun because I can't get enough live music! Mommy and Daddy can't get enough of me enjoying myself!

Monday I had a surprise. When I woke up from my morning nap my Grandma Brenneman was here! I had a great time with her and can't wait to see her again soon. That leads me to today. My second trip to the fair was for $2 Tuesday. Mommy and I met Steph to take in the tasty treats. Here's a good one of me with Steph...I'm doing one of Steph's favorite fair activities here: people watching!

Our first stop was for deep fried pizza. Mom and Steph envisioned a piece of pizza dunked in batter and deep fried to a golden brown. To their chagrin, it was actually a piece of fried dough slathered in pizza sauce and sprinkled with parmesan. I gave this one two yucks, and a fake cry.

We stopped to see the piggies. Whoa, look at the size of that one!

Next we sampled some apple cider slush, which was nice and refreshing! Then we pet the sheep.

I stopped and ate a banana at the Ag building. That was my favorite fair food of the day. Mom's was up next: deep fried cookie dough. Imagine a ball of chocolate chip cookie dough, enrobed in a sweet cake-like batter, and then deep fried and sprinkled with powdered sugar. Steph wasn't too sure about this at first, and neither was I.

It was delectable!
I can't wait til next year to do this Fair thing again!

I am heading out on vacation to the north west. I'll be taking my first trip on a plane, visiting Portland, Seattle, the coast, and the mountains. It should be great! I won't be blogging until I get home at the end of the month. Until then...

I can't believe he is climbing into the fridge!! What a stinker?! And I love "his" opinion about the fried pizza. :)
